Freshly restored BSA A65 Lightning 650 from 1970. USA model imported by us and totaly restored in our own workshop. Everything is either new or renovated. No expence spared. The popular A65 model with 2 carburators. Engine number: A65LA11070-Y Frame number: A65LA11070-Y Beutiful finished in blue metallic. This bike was part o a batch that was originally built i 1967 for the US market, but it remained unsold because it arrived to late for the riding season. It was returned to the factory and later uprated to 1970 specification and a "Y" added to the frame and engine numbers. This is documenteted in Peter Crawford's book "Thunderbolt and Lightning", and we have have checked with the VMCC that this bike was despathed to BSA West coast on 13/02-1970. From the restoration work we did on the bike, we can tell that most of the bike bar the frame is changed for 1970 items at the factory. This makes the bike quite interesting we think.
